I have always been fascinated by extraordinary people, which led me to my lifelong study of astrology. Astrology describes the influence of the planets on human behavior and from its study we can better understand what makes a person extraordinary, whether it is Leonardo da Vinci, Mother Theresa, Ludwig van Beethoven, or my own incredible Spiritual Master, Dr. George King. Through astrology, we can also better understand ourselves so that we too can become the extraordinary people we are destined to be.
You may have never heard of some of the people in this book. This is because I refused to include anyone just because they are famous. I only include people who have made or are making a positive and inspiring contribution to Society to some degree or another. A tremendous amount of media attention has been given to “Hollywood bad girls and boys”. I want to address this by giving attention in Superstar Signs to some of the greatest people.
Through my studies and research, I have found several common factors in these extraordinary people, whom I refer to as Superstars. They are able to think outside the box, go against the prevailing trends of society; they are pioneers who are unconcerned about upsetting apple carts or being unpopular. Not all of the Superstars I feature are perfect people but they all have made a mark on society in one way or another; they have all striven to make a difference. They have all done something to help other people in varying degrees.
Many of these Superstars have been unpopular, derided, scorned and not received the recognition they deserved. Some of the most extraordinary ones, including Galilei Galileo, Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, have really suffered during their lifetimes, been subjected to abuse, ridicule and, above all that disease of petty minds, jealousy. In the case of Martin Luther King and John Lennon, they were even assassinated for trying to bring positive change to society.
In Superstar Signs you will read how the sixty individuals I have selected demonstrate qualities of their respective Sun signs. I wanted to pay tribute to them and have focused on their positive attributes. If you are an Aries, for example, and don’t know how best to use your impulsive, inspirational and refreshingly candid traits, you can read examples of how Aries Superstars did it. While you may not have the talent of Claude Monet or Andre Agassi you will have your own unique talents if you can first discover them and then, more importantly, use them.
This brings me to the other purpose of Superstar Signs. It is not just to inspire and educate you about the lives of sixty extraordinary heroes and fascinating celebrities, it is to inspire and educate you on how you too can become a Superstar. I believe strongly that we are not born ordinary. I have studied enough horoscopes to know that we all have within us the seeds of greatness. We become conditioned by our environment, family, education, society’s values, materialism, and can easily forget who we are. Superstar Signs is to remind us who we really are. Each chapter contains practical exercises you can do to see whether your reactions to life are ordinary or extraordinary. It contains meditations to help you to wear the mantle of your innate Superstardom.
There are only twelve Sun Signs and there are billions of people, so how can Sun sign astrology work? It is a rough guide but it is also a helpful one. I hear some people say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. While this is true, it is also true that no knowledge at all is worse. Knowledge of your Sun sign is a good start because the Sun in your horoscope represents your character and one of the things you are here on Earth to develop. It is what your soul has chosen as a tool to help you through life. If you fully immerse yourself in your Sun energies, you will become the most creative, most joyful and effective loving human being. If you ignore it, as many people do, you will feel a vague sense of being lost, of not achieving what you are here to do. People then often cover up these feelings with outside stimulation but it never quite eases the pain.
For example, you may be shy, reserved and lacking in confidence but born a Leo. You may shun astrology saying “I’m nothing like my Sun sign!” My response is: “Well, you should be!” Being born a Leo means you are here to learn to express the Leo qualities of confidence and leadership and the Leo Superstar chapter will show you how. Life is about growth and evolution and eventual enlightenment. Every person is here learning how to express the talents and abilities, the seeds of which are shown in their horoscopes at the moment of their birth. The more you can express the potential of your Sun sign, the more this will help you along your path to Superstardom.
