A Holy Harvest by Amy Katherine Knox

It is a book of devotionals that reveal the author’s own struggles in following a holy path.

Coming to God as a Child

My daughter taught me a lesson recently when it was I who should have been teaching her as her Sunday School teacher.  We were making invitations to invite friends to church.  My daughter eagerly made her invitation, coloring it to the best of her ability.  She told me she was going to give it to her friend, Julianne.  It amazed me how eagerly and confidently she told me this.  She had no hesitations or fears of Julianne’s reaction.  She didn’t worry that her friend wouldn’t like her if she invited her to church or talked to her about God.

Jesus loved children so much, and I’m beginning to understand what He said when He told the people that “for such is the kingdom of God.”  Children are not bogged down by self-consciousness or fear of rejection that might come with sharing Christ.  They eagerly obey with no complaint or inhibition.  If we, as adults, could only spread the word of Christ with as much enthusiasm and sincere pleasure as the children, we could win a world full of souls.
